Burkhart's Farm Market |
Third generation farmers, Mike and Penny Burkhart, with sons Robert and Michael, farm 175 acres near Martinsburg, WV. The majority of their farm is in beef and hay operations, with approximately 40 acres in apples, nectarines, peaches, pears, sweet cherries, blueberries and 10 acres in vegetables. Vegetables include tomatoes, squash, onions, and sweet and hot peppers. All fruits and vegetables are sold at both the Sunday and Thursday Berkeley Springs Farmers Market, Martinsburg Square Farmers Market (Wednesdays and Fridays, 8am-1pm), and at their farm stand 2.5 miles west of Interstate 81, exit 13 (Monday-Friday, 2pm-6pm). Burkhart's come to the market starting in mid-June with their crop of chemical-free blueberries. |
